Getting your NCAA number

This is an important step in the recruiting process


Instructions

Important: Always register directly through the official NCAA Eligibility Center website at eligibilitycenter.org. Do not use third-party services.

Step 1: Go to the NCAA Eligibility Center

Step 2: Choose the Correct Account Type

  • Certification Account

    • Required if a student plans to compete at an NCAA Division I or Division II school.

    • Registration fee required (fee waiver may apply).

  • Profile Page

    • Free option for students still deciding on DI/DII, considering Division III, or early in their high school career.

    • Can be upgraded later to a Certification Account if needed.

Step 3: Enter Student Information

  • Complete all sections, including:

    • Personal information

    • Educational history

    • Sports participation history

Step 4: Pay the Registration Fee (if applicable)

  • Only required for Certification Accounts.

  • Fee waiver is available for those who qualify based on financial need.

Step 5: Receive NCAA ID

  • Once registration is complete, the student’s NCAA ID number will appear in the top-right corner of the account.

  • Save and record this number for future use.

Reminder: Avoid Third-Party Services

  • Always register directly with the NCAA.

  • Outside services are unnecessary, not officially affiliated, and may put personal information at risk.
